30-plus year Marriott International Veteran Tapped to Lead Growing Company
February 25, 2020 – San Antonio, TX – Tye Turman, a highly regarded 33-year veteran of Marriott International, will take the reins of the Propel Companies as CEO effective March 1, 2020.
As CEO of Propel, Turman will oversee and expand all four of the company’s current businesses: Propel Development LLC; Propel Management, LLC, which will under Turman move into an enhanced third-party growth strategy in 2020; Propel Construction, LLC; and Propel Hospitality Resource Group, LLC, which provides personalized PEO (HR, benefits and payroll) and accounting services exclusively to hotels.
Turman’s move was announced by Propel Founder Hans Lindberg concurrent with Turman’s retirement from Marriott International, on which his impact was saluted in an internal company statement citing his influence on the company’s growth via the 1,000 new hotels signed by him and his team following his move into the role of senior vice president of development for Marriott’s Western Region in 2011.
“I am grateful for my accrued experience which, combined with the innovative, forward-thinking approach I’ve witnessed in Hans and Propel, created the perfect timing for my move,” said Turman. “I’m very excited about our shared philosophy – to drive, support, deliver and celebrate exceptionalism – and about leading Propel’s long-term sustainability strategies in unit growth, third party management expansion, PEO services and other new business opportunities.”

Tye Turman, who since 2011 has held the position of senior vice president of development for Marriott’s Select Brands, started his career with Residence Inn in 1986 prior to Marriott purchasing the brand. Throughout his three-plus decades with Marriott, Turman held numerous roles in operations and owner/franchise services, known for leading with a tireless commitment to his people and his industry.A native of Tyler, Texas, he and his wife Debbi live in San Antonio, headquarters of the Propel Companies.
