Omni Hotels & Resorts Gains Full Ownership of the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center

New acquisition allows Omni Hotels & Resorts full ownership of the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center.

Omni Hotels & Resorts has acquired property in Atlanta, Georgia. The Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center, had long been a property in the Omni Hotels & Resorts portfolio. In 2000, they worked with Turner Broadcasting to acquire the hotel’s south tower. They then built the north tower, which opened in 2003.

The most recent deal comes after Omni Hotels & Resorts acquired 50 percent interest from Time Warner Inc. Since the deal, Omni Hotels & Resorts now owns the entire property. The Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center is now a major player in the hotel group’s portfolio. In fact, it’s the largest of all the Omni Hotels & Resorts.

With its north and south towers, the hotel has over 1,000 guestrooms and suites, 600 of which were built in the north tower. Additionally, the hotel has a nearly 20,000 sq. ft. ballroom and 45 meeting rooms with 120,000 sq. ft. of function space. Located in downtown Atlanta, the property has access to the CNN Center, Georgia World Congress Center, and the College Football Hall of Fame.

Since the full acquisition of the property, the Omni Hotels & Resorts has taken steps to create new hotel management. With years of experience in the hospitality industry, the new manager of the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center is former Ritz Carlton manager Manuel Deisen.
